  • School Philosophy

    School Philosophy

We pursue excellence through dedication to our mission: building character and competence through leadership and an active, healthy lifestyle.  We build great character by building responsibility for self and others in our community.  We develop competence through the acquisition of what students are expected to know and be able to do by the end of each school year in relation to the Alberta Program of Studies.

We are an APPLE School.  This means that we are part of the Alberta Project Promoting Active Living and Healthy Eating school-wide.  We sincerely believe in comprehensive school health as an integral part of education.

Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Welcome to Lee Ridge Elementary School!  We are grounded in our mission statement: building character and competence through leadership and an active healthy lifestyle.  We believe that all of our students are destined for greatness!  Our students' success is accomplished by providing high quality teaching and learning environments with a focus on literacy and numeracy.

We believe that education is a partnership and we are committed to the well-being of our students, staff and community members.  Together, we achieve learning and working environments that are:

  • Safe
  • Respectful
  • Ethical
  • Free from abusive behaviour, harassment and violence in any form.

More than anything, we create an environment where everyone knows that they belong at Lee Ridge School.  We know what it means to "Be the Bison"!

by choosing:

To be kind to self and others.

To be respectful to others.

To make sure our words help or heal.

We are represented by the bison who is strong, and who makes sure that everyone in the group is safe and included.  We work both individually and together for the greatest good, for the good of all, and to ensure that everyone knows they belong at Lee Ridge School.

Yours in education,

Tracy Warawa

Principal
